Monsanto Transparency?

"Monsanto got a big boost in Europe yesterday when an official ruled that the European Union’s constituent countries couldn’t independently ban genetically modified crops (GMOs) on their turf. France and five other EU countries have put a blanket ban on GMOs, citing safety concerns."

"So while France doesn’t have to open the floodgates tomorrow… this definitely ups the pressure on Europe to let Monsanto in."

We lived in England in 2000 and I remember the stores having signs in their produce department listing if foods were GMO or not.  Twelve years down the road and we don't see even a hint of this in the U.S.

Is it futile to hate a corporation?

  1. I have taken notice of a new commercial on local television that has been running a lot lately. It starts with showing a guy on a tractor in a beautiful field and saying that farmers here in GA have been providing quality food for our state for years and then it shows three farmers.. a young guy in jean and t-shirt, a middle aged guy in same exept wearing a flannel shirt, and an old guy in overalls standing together beside a tractor... and goes on to say how for generations our farmers have been providing food for the people of our state and asking us to support local farmers. The guys smile for the camera and then it ends, quickly stating that this add is sponsered by Monsanto. YUCK! What a trick, it never mentions GMOs, just paints a pretty picture. *SIGH* Most people don't have a clue.
